Travel a long distance flight with a baby would have rank among the most stressful activities of life. However with modern families often scattered all over the world visit the grandmother can often mean the necessary evil of a plane with his demanding joy package.
It will not be easy - but there really is much that can be done to prepare for what may seem like a particularly difficult task
The first thing is first; Do not assume anything. Make sure that you have a passport account for your baby and that the airline know are traveling with you. Some companies that infants travel for free, while others charge 10% on a ticket of adults to children under the age of 2 years of age.
If travel longer distances, consider the premium economy or class of business if possible. Not having to queue and have more leg room or a flat surface would seem expendable luxuries, but extra cost will be worth every penny if it makes your life easier with a baby.
Check with the airline to see if you can give a seat of closing and ask for a cot. The cradle cannot provide is automatically especially if there are other families flying. It is best to do this when booking their tickets rather than the arrival to save any confusion last time or delay.
If your baby is fed with formula, have as much milk as you think that your baby will need and then double it. Today's hypersensitive security means could be asked to drink at random from cartons or bottles which could mean you have to throw some supplies before boarding, or even during traffic safety controls. You can not be sure that there will be delays in flight and a hungry baby
Light travel is a mantra for each passenger with experience but that will double when traveling with a baby. You will have already automatically batches of essentials to take thus forget the heavy books, flying pillows and bags of candy. Take baby paracetamol and a thermometer in case, but ignore who tells him her baby with 'natural herbs' of drugs to make them docile on the plane.
It doesn't feel guilty or apology towards other passengers if your baby is crying or anxiety during a flight. It is an inevitable fact that babies cry and is obviously not left the aircraft so there is no point in wear and tear on it. You could just pleasantly surprised by the kindness of strangers and staff of the airline especially if you travel alone!
Babies are not immune to jet lag and hydration in a flight. Try to ensure that enough for drinking by maintaining a manufactured water bottle with you and offers as many times as they occur. Sucking a mannequin during take off and landing can help to equalize shortly eardrums and help them to 'pop'. Finally, note that normally you will be asked your baby in his return with a seat belt every time that the seat belt sign is switched on during the turbulence. (even if it means waking them up!)
Good luck, be prepared and we must not expect miracles, but you never know, aircraft provide an excellent source of white noise and movement by what could only sleep through everything!
When is the last time you took time to really be still, perhaps through meditation or conscious breathing?

I recently read about this study conducted by Nobel Prize recipient Daniel Kahneman. He believed we would all feel a lot better if we spent our time more wisely. He conducted a diary study with 909 women in Austin, Texas. He asked them to record all the activities they did during the day and then rate how happy they were while doing them. He then had them narrow the list to their least favorite activities. Unfortunately those activities accounted for nearly half of the participants' waking hours.
